LANSING, August 9, 2006 – Arthur Love, Jr. is a very lucky 29-year-old. He matched four white ball numbers and the Mega ball to win a $10,000 Mega Millions prize.
The Midland man found out about his good fortune after having a friend check his ticket. He hid the lucky winning ticket in his wallet before cashing it in at the Lottery’s Saginaw office.
Love plans to purchase a car and pay off family bills with his prize money.
The winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Admiral Petroleum #13, 1801 S. Saginaw Rd., in Midland.
Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 10,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
