Missouri man wins $10,000

LANSING, July 6, 2006 – John McClendon, a very lucky Missouri man, won a $10,000 prize by matching the first four white balls and the Mega ball in the June 23 Mega Millions game.

The 66-year-old retired state employee claims he was “shaky and nervous” after finding out his ticket was worth a bunch! He plans to share the money with his daughter-in-law and save the rest.

The lucky winning easy pick ticket was purchased at Kroger #401, 3430 State St., in Saginaw.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 10,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
