Retired woman claims prize

LANSING, May 12, 2006 – A very lucky lady is $10,000 richer after matching four white ball numbers and the Mega ball in the May 2 Mega Millions drawing.

Lillian Bouvich of Sterling Heights was “shocked” when she realized her ticket was a big winner.

She hid the winning ticket in her purse and she was sure to check on it every couple of hours.  She used her “favorite numbers” on the big winning ticket.

Bouvich plans to use her prize money to pay bills. The winning easy-pick ticket was purchased at Venice Liquor Shoppe, 40000 Hayes Rd., in Clinton Township.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 10,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
