Club claims big money

LANSING, April 26, 2006 – The lucky ladies of B and V Adventure Club of Belleville claimed a $250,000 prize after their ticket matched all five white balls, without matching the Mega ball in the March 31 Mega Millions drawing.

The winners, who have been playing together for about a year, said they were in disbelief when they realized their ticket was a big winner.  They both plan to use the prize money for retirement.

The lucky ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven #33142, 39390 Ecorse Rd., in Romulus.

Mega Millions is a multi-state lottery game in Michigan, California, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Texas, Virginia and Washington.  Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 10,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in Michigan.  In fiscal year 2005, the contribution was $667.6 million.
