LANSING, May 2, 2003 – Michael McDaniels of Grand Rapids recently pocketed some extra cash upon scratching off a Michigan Lottery “Super 6s” instant game ticket to reveal a $6,000 top prize!
The lucky winner, who works as a laboratory technician, purchased the winning ticket at 7-Eleven 047B, 888 Forest Hill Ave. SE, in Grand Rapids.
The 31-year-old winner said he scratched off the first line on the ticket and thought at that point he had won a $1000 prize.
“I then walked out of the store and scratched off the rest of the ticket and discovered I won a $6,000 top prize,” said McDaniels. “I am completely surprised to have a top-prize winning ticket.”
Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Wyoming, the winner said he kept it with him at all times to ensure its safety.
McDaniels, who enjoys playing billiards in his spare time, said he plans to use his winnings make home improvements.
“Super 6s” is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
