LANSING, May 2, 2003 – Beverly Trudell of Davison magically turned $2 into a $10,000 top prize upon scratching off a Michigan Lottery “Magic Money” instant game ticket!

The lucky retiree purchased the winning ticket at Kessel Store #414, 817 S. State Road, in Davison.

“When I scratched off the ticket I couldn’t believe I had won,” said Trudell.  “I was so surprised to win that I took the ticket to a local retailer to have them double check it for me.  Upon learning I had actually won, I started crying with joy and immediately called my daughter.” 

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Lansing, the 65-year-old winner said she kept in her purse at all times to ensure its safety. 

Trudell, who enjoys working on craft projects, spending time with her grandchildren, and working with handicapped children in her spare time, said she plans to use part of her winnings to pay bills and share the rest with her grandchildren.
