LANSING, April 7, 2003 – Bernard Rowan of Monroe recently experienced a bit of Michigan Lottery magic upon scratching off a "Magic Money" instant ticket to reveal a $10,000 top prize!
Rowan, who works at Monroe Golf and Country, purchased the winning ticket at Sam Stop, 1740 W. 7th St., in Monroe.
"I was very surprised when I scratched off the ticket and learned I had won a $10,000 prize," said Rowan. "I was so excited that I couldn’t sleep that night!"
Rowan, 61, said he kept the winning ticket in a drawer to ensure its safety prior to turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office Dearborn Heights.
The lucky man, who enjoys woodworking in his free time, added that he plans to save his winnings for the future.
"Magic Money" is one of many instant tickets available at more than 9,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
