LANSING, March 25, 2003 – A Commerce Township man went wild with excitement upon scratching off a Michigan Lottery "Casino Wild" instant ticket to reveal a $100,000 top prize!
The lucky winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at Cass Lakeview Party Store, 990 S. Cass Lake Road, in Waterford.
"I knew I had won something on the ticket, but I had no idea it was this much," said the winner. "I called the Lottery office to verify the amount of the prize. I just stared at the ticket in disbelief upon learning I had won a $100,000 cash prize!"
The winner, who works for General Motors, said he kept the winning ticket in a dresser drawer in his home to ensure its safety prior to turning it in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing. The Commerce Township man, who enjoys working on woodworking projects in his spare time, said he plans to use part of his winnings to pay bills and save the remainder for retirement.
