Jenison Woman Is A Little Richer Thanks To Lottery's New WINFALL Game!

LANSING, February 4, 2003 – A lucky Jenison woman experienced a little Lottery luck when she matched five of six numbers in the Michigan Lottery’s first WINFALL drawing on Wednesday, January 22 to win a $32,256 prize! The winning numbers for that drawing were: 8, 13, 18, 23, 44 and 45.

In total for the January 22, 2003 WINFALL drawing, there were 18 lucky winners who will each receive $32,256 for matching five numbers; 924 winners who will each receive $1,319 for matching four numbers; and 15,629 winners who will each receive $70 for matching three numbers.

The lucky lady, who is a teacher in the Kenowa Hills and school district, purchased the winning "easy pick" ticket at Meijer #26, 0550 Baldwin St., in Jenison.

"I checked the winning numbers while I was reading the newspaper, and couldn’t believe it when I realized I had matched five of six numbers!" exclaimed the 52-year-old winner. "I was so stunned that I had my husband drive me to the nearest Lottery retailer to have the clerk double-check the ticket."

The happy winner added that she kept the winning ticket in her purse at all times to ensure its safety prior to turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Wyoming. The lucky lady said she currently has no special plans for her winnings.

WINFALL drawings are held twice a week – Wednesday and Saturday – at 7:29 p.m., and the cost to play is
$1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,200 Lottery retailers statewide.

Since it was created in 1972, the Michigan Lottery has returned over $11 billion to the state School Aid Fund, which supports K-12 public education in the state of Michigan.
