LANSING, November 15, 2002 – Sara Richmond of Fairgrove couldn’t believe her eyes after recently scratching off a Michigan Lottery "Big Fat Wallet" instant game ticket to reveal a $250,000 top prize!

Richmond, who enjoys sailing and bowling in her spare time, purchased the winning ticket at McGee’s Convenience Store, 5015 Center St., in Fairgrove.

"I just stood there in disbelief after scratching off the ticket to reveal a $250,000 top prize," said Richmond. "I was excited and surprised to win! I called my husband, Greg, to tell him that I had won a big Lottery prize, but he didn’t believe me until I showed him the winning ticket."

The lucky lady kept the winning ticket hidden in an encyclopedia at all times to ensure its safety prior to turning it in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing. Richmond, a medical student, said she plans to use her winnings to pay for medical school tuition.
