LANSING, November 15, 2002 – A lucky Burton man went wild with excitement upon recently scratching off a Michigan Lottery "Bingo Nut" instant ticket to reveal a $30,000 top prize.
The happy winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at Davison Oil and Gas #4, 2514 S. Belsay Road, in Burton.
"After I scratched off the ticket and realized I had won a top prize, I was in total shock!" said the winner. "When I told my wife and nephew that I had won they didn’t believe me."
The winner, who enjoys gardening and solving crossword puzzles in his spare time, told Lottery officials that he kept the winning ticket in a fire-proof box to ensure its safety prior to turning it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Bridgeport. He added that he plans to save his winnings for the future.
"Bingo Nut" is just one of the Michigan Lottery’s instant games available at more than 9,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
