LANSING, October 18, 2002 – A lucky Harrison Township man spelled his way to instant wealth upon revealing a $300,000 top prize in the Lottery’s "Bingo Mania" instant game!

"I was scratching off number after number in utter disbelief," said the winner, who requested anonymity. "I just kept scratching until all of the numbers on the winning card on my Bingo Mania ticket were gone. When we realized we had won the top prize, my wife and I were so excited and shocked that we couldn’t stop shaking!"

The winning ticket was sold at the Beach Way Party Store, 35409 Jefferson Ave., in Harrison Township.

The retired 79-year-old man, who has been playing Lottery games for the past 30 years, said the instant games are his favorites.

"The instant tickets are fun to play and you never know when it might be your lucky day," exclaimed the winner.

The happy winner said he kept the winning ticket in his pocket at all times prior to turning it in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing. When asked by Lottery officials what he plans to do with his winnings, the lucky man said he would share part of it with his family, and use the rest to purchase new furniture for his house.

"Bingo Mania" is just one of many instant games available at more than 9,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
