LANSING, October 7, 2002 – Donald Beck of Saginaw is a little richer today, thanks to the jackpot-winning Michigan Rolldown ticket he recently purchased! Beck matched all five numbers in the October 1 drawing to win the $15,614 jackpot. The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 2, 7, 10, 13 and 18.
In total for the October 1 drawing, 17,636 winners shared $54,397 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 76 winners matched four numbers to win an $84 prize; 1,855 winners matched three numbers to win a $9 prize; and 15,704 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.
Beck purchased the winning "easy pick" Michigan Rolldown ticket at Clark #1661, 1607 S. Michigan Ave., in Saginaw.
"I looked up the winning numbers in the Saginaw News and realized that I had matched all five numbers," said Beck. "I was completely shocked!"
The lucky 57-year-old, who works at Delphi Auto Systems, said he kept the winning ticket in his wallet to ensure its safety prior to turning it at the Lottery’s regional office in Bridgeport.
Beck, who enjoys fishing and boating in his spare time, said he plans to use his winnings to make home improvements.
The first Michigan Rolldown drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week – – Monday through Saturday – – at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
