LANSING, September 20, 2002 – Blanchie Taylor of Detroit was thrilled to learn she possessed one of the three jackpot-winning tickets sold in the September 14 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win a $5,211 share of the jackpot. The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 3, 7, 19, 28 and 33.
In total for the September 14 drawing, 18,325 winners shared $53,475 in prizes. In addition to the three jackpot winners, 86 winners matched four numbers to win a $74 prize; 2,207 winners matched three numbers to win a $7 prize; and 16,029 winners matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.
Taylor purchased the winning Michigan Rolldown ticket at Cities Mini Mart Inc., 1841 E. State Fair, in Detroit.
"I chose my winning number combination based upon the birthdates of family members," said Taylor. "They are the same numbers I play in every Rolldown drawing."
The lucky 74-year-old winner, who enjoys crocheting in her spare time, said she plans to use her winnings to pay bills.
The first Michigan Rolldown drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week – – Monday through Saturday – – at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
