LANSING, August 28, 2002 – MaryAnn Cavataio of Macomb said she was "shocked" when she realized she had matched all five numbers in the August 21 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win the $14,901 jackpot! The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 6, 8, 13, 30 and 33.

In total for the August 21 Michigan Rolldown drawing, there were 15,407 winners who shared $49,951 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, there were 47 winners who matched four numbers for a prize of $130; 1,509 winners who matched three numbers for a prize of $10; and 13,850 winners who matched two numbers for the $1 prize.

The 40-year-old winner purchased the winning Michigan Rolldown ticket at Meijer #55, 36600 Van Dyke Ave., in Sterling Heights.

The homemaker, who enjoys participating in exercise and fitness activities in her free time, said she could hardly believe her eyes when she looked at the ticket and realized it was a big winner! Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Sterling Heights, Cavataio said she kept it in her wallet at all times to ensure its safety.

Cavataio said she learned she had a jackpot-winning ticket upon looking up the winning numbers in The Detroit News. The lucky lady said she plans to use her winnings to pay bills and make home improvements.

Michigan Rolldown drawings are conducted six days a week — Monday through Saturday — at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at the more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
