LANSING, July 1, 2002 – A lucky Au Gres bartender chose the winning number combination in the March 21 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win the $21,421 jackpot! The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 19, 25, 28, 31 and 33.
In total for the March 21 Michigan Rolldown drawing, 22,125 winners shared $72,624 in prizes. In addition to the sole jackpot winner, 93 winners matched four numbers to win a $94 prize; 2,270 matched three numbers to win a $10 prize; and 19,761 matched two numbers to win the $1 prize.
The lucky ticket was purchased at The Rivers Edge, 415 E. Huron Road, in Au Gres.
"I watched the Michigan Rolldown drawing on television," the winner said. "I was in disbelief when I saw that I had matched all five numbers!"
The 19-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, said his mother kept the winning ticket in a safe for him before he turned it in at the Lottery’s regional office in Bridgeport. He added that he plans to use his winnings to purchase a new car.
Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide.
