LANSING, April 17, 2002 — As another tax season winds down, the Michigan Lottery has a very big return for one lucky Lottery player — if he or she comes forward in time! "While you are doing your spring cleaning, take a minute to look through your old Lottery tickets," said Acting Michigan Lottery Commissioner James Kipp. "The time you take to check the numbers on those tickets could end up being very, very valuable!"
Michigan Lottery players have one year from the draw date to claim any on-line prizes. The holder of this lucky ticket will have until the close of business, Wednesday, April 24 to claim his or her prize.
If Michigan Lottery prizes are not claimed within the one-year period, they revert to the state School Aid Fund, which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public education in the state of Michigan.
