LANSING, April 16, 2002 – David Marshall of Wyandotte recently heard some good news from a local 7-Eleven manager—that Marshall may have purchased a Big Game ticket worth $150,000—and the manager was right! The winning numbers for the April 9 drawing were 1, 15, 17, 21, 41 and the Big Money Ball number was 4.

The winning "easy pick" ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven #13488, 5697 Pelham St., in Dearborn Heights.

"I am a regular customer at that particular 7-Eleven, and after the employees learned a winning ticket had been sold there, they all tried to figure out who had sold it, and to whom they had sold it," Marshall said. "I recently stopped at the store, and the manager told me that they had sold a winning $150,000 ticket, and he told me to be sure to check my tickets. I had saved the ticket, but not checked it since there was no jackpot winner. When my wife, Maureen, and I took it to the 7-Eleven and confirmed that it was a winner, we went nuts!"

The lucky 37-year-old winner, who works as a computer technician for ISA in Dearborn, said he kept the ticket on a bulletin board in his home before turning it in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing. The couple added that they plan to use their winnings to pay bills and buy some special items for their children.

Marshall advises other Lottery players to "check the numbers thoroughly, even if there is no jackpot winner!"

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 7,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next Big Game drawing is Tuesday, April 16, with an expected jackpot of $325 million—the second largest jackpot in the Big Game’s history!
