LANSING, March 13, 2002 – A lucky Ferndale man spelled his way to instant wealth with the Michigan Lottery’s "Coffee Break Bingo!" Upon scratching off the ticket he revealed a $20,000 top prize.
The winning ticket was purchased at Vegas Market, 1470 Fort St., in Lincoln Park.
"I scratched the ticket and took it back to the store where I purchased it to collect my winnings," the winner said. "The clerks at the store went crazy! That’s how I knew I had won the top prize."
The 42-year-old Fort Jewelry and Loans employee, who requested anonymity, said he kept his winning ticket locked in a safe before claiming his prize at the Lottery’s regional office in Dearborn Heights. The lucky winner, who enjoys listening to music and watching sports in his free time, said he plans to invest his winnings.
"Coffee Break Bingo" is just one of many instant games available at more than 9,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
