LANSING, March 7, 2002 – An Ionia woman said she was "shocked" to learn she had matched all five numbers in the March 1 Michigan Rolldown drawing to win the $20,127 jackpot! The winning numbers for that day’s drawing were: 3, 10, 12, 16 and 21.
The 48-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning "easy pick" ticket at Randi’s Riverside Party Store, 121 W. Riverside Dr., in Ionia. The lucky lady, a secretary at Tom Carter Motor Sales, kept the jackpot-winning ticket safely in her wallet before claiming her prize. She added that she plans to use her winnings to pay bills.
In total for the March 1 Michigan Rolldown drawing, there were 23,100 winners who shared $69,153 in prizes. In addition to the jackpot winner, there were 110 winners who matched four numbers for a prize of $75; 2,541 winners who matched three numbers for a prize of $8, and 20,448 winners who matched two numbers for the $1 prize.
Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held on February 28, 2000. Drawings are held six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide. Also, effective March 4 through March 30, Michigan Rolldown players can once again take advantage of the "Bonus Play" promotion, which offers players who purchase a ticket with five wagers or more an "easy pick" ticket—absolutely free! Players who purchase a 10-panel ticket will receive two free "easy picks."
