Kent County Woman Wins $17,017 Michigan Rolldown Jackpot!

LANSING, March 6, 2002—A Wyoming woman raked in a little extra dough when she matched all five numbers in the Michigan Rolldown drawing on February 19 to win the $17,017 jackpot.

The 30-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning Michigan Rolldown "easy pick" ticket at Lucky Stop, 2011 Eastern Ave. SE, in Grand Rapids. She learned she had a jackpot-winning ticket after seeing the winning numbers on television.

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Wyoming, the lucky lady said she kept it in her wallet at all times to ensure its safety. The winner, who works as a nurse, said she does not yet have any plans for her winnings.

The February 19 drawing yielded $58,350 in prizes shared by 17,796 winners. In addition to the jackpot winner, 64 winners matched four numbers for a prize of $109; 1,847 winners matched three numbers for a $10 prize; and 15,884 matched two numbers for the $1 prize.

Michigan Rolldown’s first drawing was held February 28, 2000. Drawings are conducted six days a week—Monday through Saturday—at 7:28 p.m., and the cost to play is $1 per wager. Tickets are available at more than 7,000 Lottery retailers statewide. Also, effective March 4 through March 30, Lottery players can once again take advantage of the "Bonus Play promotion," which offers players who purchase a ticket with five wagers or more an "easy pick" ticket—absolutely free! Players who purchase a 10-panel ticket will receive two free "easy picks."
