C.A. Laporte of Bellville Wins Big Bucks in the Michigan Lottery's Big Game!

LANSING, January 23, 2002 – C. A. Laporte of Belleville started the new year on an exciting note when she learned, after looking at the Lottery’s Web site, that she had matched the first five numbers in the December 14, 2001 Big Game drawing to win a $150,000 prize. That day’s winning numbers were:
6, 27, 28, 29, 42 and the Big Money Ball number was 36.

Laporte, who said she has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past five years, purchased the winning Big Game “easy pick” ticket at Chapp’s Landing, 35777 S. Huron Road, in New Boston.

“I checked my ticket against the numbers listed on the Michigan Lottery’s Web site on New Years Day,” said Laporte. “I was so excited to see that my ticket was a winner, I woke my daughter up after only two hours of sleep! I am very excited about winning this great prize!”

Prior to turning the winning Big Game ticket in at Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing, Laporte said she placed the ticket in a fire-proof safe. She added that she plans to invest her winnings for retirement.

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 7,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11:00 p.m. The next Big Game drawing is Friday, January 25, 2002, with an expected jackpot of $12 million.
