LANSING, January 20, 2000 — A Zeeland woman could hardly believe her eyes upon discovering she had won the $100,000 top prize in the Lottery’s Cash 5 game!

The winner, who requested anonymity, matched all five numbers in the January 12 Cash 5 drawing — 8, 26, 27, 32 and 33. The winning Cash 5 ticket was purchased at Admiral Petroleum Company #10, 4 W. Main Ave., in Zeeland.

"My husband picked up a winning number report from the store," the winner said. "We then checked our ticket against the report while riding home in the car. I yelled, ‘We hit it!’ We immediately pulled the car over — we were so excited and surprised that we laughed, cried and laughed again! My husband just kept looking at the ticket all weekend in disbelief."

The Zeeland woman said she has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 17 years and her favorites are Michigan Lotto, Keno and, of course, Cash 5.

Prior to turning the winning Cash 5 ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the winner said she placed it in a "safe place" in her house. The lucky lady said she hasn’t really had time to think about what she wants to do with the winnings. She added that she and her husband will likely invest the money for their future.

Tickets are available for Cash 5 and other Michigan Lottery on-line games at more than 6,400 Lottery retailers throughout the state.
