LANSING, December 21, 1999 — Vonda Alderson of Twin Lake took a bite out of the Michigan Lottery after scratching off a Michigan Lottery "The Big Dog" instant ticket to reveal she had won one of the $25,000 top prizes!

The 37-year-old winner purchased the lucky ticket at Car-Go Food & Fuel Inc., 5536 Holton Road, in Twin Lake. Alderson could hardly believe her eyes when she saw what she had won.

"I was completely amazed and stunned," she said.

When not working on her computer or reading, Alderson enjoys playing Lottery games. In fact, she said she has been playing them for the past nine years and her favorites are Michigan Lotto, The Big Game and, of course, the instant games!

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Wyoming, the licensed practical nurse kept it with her at all times — first in her pocket and then in her wallet.

"I didn’t want to let the ticket out of my sight," Alderson said.

The lucky lady said she plans to use her winnings to pay bills and purchase gifts so her family can have a "lovely Christmas."
