Port Huron Man Becomes Latest Instant Millionaire Thanks to Lottery's "Millennium Millions" Instant Game!

LANSING, December 17, 1999 — A Port Huron man now knows what it’s like to feel like a million bucks! He became the Michigan Lottery’s newest millionaire upon scratching off one of the Lottery’s "Millennium Millions" instant tickets to reveal a $1,000,000 prize!

"I scratched off the ticket while I was still in the store," the winner said. "I knew immediately that I had won a million dollars. I looked at the ticket and said, ‘Yahoo!’ You never expect to win the top prize when you buy the tickets — I was completely surprised."

The winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at E-Z Quickmart #1, 546 N. Cedar Street, in Imlay City.

The Port Huron man, who works as a drywaller, said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 27 years and his favorites are Michigan Lotto, The Big Game, the Daily 3 game and, of course, the instant games!

While he hasn’t had much time to think about what he will do with his winnings, the winner said he will likely share part of it with his family.

The lucky man said he believes anyone can win big Lottery prizes, and he offered the following words of wisdom to other Lottery hopefuls: "Just keep playing! You never know what’s going to happen — you will be surprised on every ticket!"

"Millennium Millions" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
