LANSING, December 2, 1999 — When Hakema Hado of Warren has a lucky day she really goes all out! Hado’s lucky day came on November 23 when she matched the first five numbers in that day’s Big Game drawing on not one, but two separate tickets — bringing her two $150,000 prizes for a total of $300,000 in Big Game prizes! That day’s winning numbers were: 1, 5, 9, 13, 19 and the Big Money Ball number was 3.

"My husband picked up a winning number report at the store and brought it home," Hado said. "When we first looked at the tickets we thought they were worth $100 each. My husband then looked at a Big Game brochure to find out what matching the first five numbers paid. He told me the tickets were worth $150,000 each! I didn’t believe him at first and told him not to tease me! We haven’t been able to sleep since."

Hado, who works for an auto supplier, said she has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 24 years and she truly enjoys the wide variety of games offered. She purchased both winning Big Game tickets at King Cellars Party Shoppe, 28756 Ryan Road, in Warren.

Prior to turning the winning tickets in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, Hado had her husband keep them in his wallet to ensure their safety. The lucky lady said she plans to use part of her winnings to pay off her house and buy a new car. She added that she hasn’t decided what to do with the rest yet.

The Big Game is a multistate lottery game in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Virginia. Wagers cost $1 each and tickets may be purchased at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.

Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next Big Game drawing is Friday, December 3, with an expected jackpot of $9 million.
