LANSING, September 14, 1999 — A Warren woman couldn’t contain her excitement when she realized she had won the $100,000 top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s Cash 5 game!

The lucky lady, who requested anonymity, match all five numbers in the September 3 drawing — 1, 3, 8, 19 and 26. The winning Cash 5 ticket was purchased at Party King Store, 3872 E. 13 Mile Road, in Warren.

"I watched the Cash 5 drawing with my husband and he was pretty sure we had matched all five numbers as soon as he saw them," the winner said. "We checked the ticket and both immediately started jumping up and down while crying and screaming! My husband yelled ‘we won $100,000!’"

The winner, an avid golfer, said she has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 27 years and she truly enjoys the variety of games the Lottery offers. She said she always chooses her own numbers, based on her own birth date and her husband’s.

The winner said she plans to use her winnings to make home improvements. Prior to turning in the winning ticket at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the Warren woman kept it in a safe.

She offered the following words of wisdom to other Lottery hopefuls: "This money couldn’t have come at a better time for us. Don’t give up! Eventually your numbers will come up!"
