Saginaw Man in Disbelief After Winning $100,000 Michigan Lottery Cash 5 Prize!

LANSING, September 9, 1999 — A Saginaw man is enjoying the windfall he recently received after winning the $100,000 top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s Cash 5 game!

The 58-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, matched all five numbers in the September 6 drawing — 3, 5, 9, 14 and 17. The winning Cash 5 ticket was purchased at Quickstop Mini Mart, 2034 S. Washington Ave., in Saginaw.

"I watched the Cash 5 drawing that night and was pretty sure I had all five numbers when I saw them come up," the winner said. "I checked my ticket right away and could hardly believe what I saw. I told my wife ‘Aggie drew some good numbers for me tonight!’ My wife was really shook up and couldn’t believe we had actually won!"

The winner, a retiree and avid golfer, said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 27 years and he truly enjoys the variety of games the Lottery offers. He said he plans to use his winnings to pay bills.

Prior to turning the winning Cash 5 ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the lucky man placed it in his wallet for safe-keeping. He encourages other Lottery hopefuls to "keep playing!"

Cash 5 drawings are conducted every Monday through Friday at 7:28 p.m. Players can win $100,000 for matching all five winning numbers; $350 for matching four of five numbers drawn; or $20 for matching three of five numbers drawn.

Tickets are available for Cash 5 and other Michigan Lottery on-line games at more than 6,400 Lottery retailers throughout the state.
