Michigan Lottery Players Winning Big With Tickets Sold At Detroit Retailers! Winning $250,000 Keno Ticket Remains Unclaimed!

LANSING, July 28, 1999 – July 16 was a lucky day for two Michigan Lottery players who won big with tickets they purchased at Detroit retailers!

Bill Parker of Detroit is wearing a big smile after winning a top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s Big Game!  He matched the first five numbers in the July 16 Big Game drawing to win the $150,000 prize.  That day’s winning numbers were: 2, 6, 7, 17, 18 and the Big Money Ball number was 1.

"I saw the winning numbers on television," Parker said.  "I wrote them down and checked my ticket right away.  I couldn’t believe I matched five numbers!  I checked the numbers again when I got the newspaper the next morning.  I was nervous and elated all at the same time!"

Parker purchased the winning Big Game ticket at Broadway Stop and Shop, 1338 Broadway, in Detroit.

The racquetball and golf enthusiast said he doesn’t have any plans for his winnings yet – he is "still thinking about it." The lucky man offered the following words of wisdom to other Lottery hopefuls: "Winning is pure luck!"

Parker wasn’t the only lucky Michigan Lottery player to hit the big time on July 16.  Angelia Starr Pellegrini of Roseville is now carrying around a little extra pocket change of her own!

Pellegrini matched all five numbers in the July 16 Cash 5 drawing to win the $100,000 top prize.  That day’s winning numbers were: 4, 9, 12, 33 and 37.

"My husband, Tom, and I watched the Cash 5 drawing on Channel 4 (WDIV-TV)," Pellegrini said.  "Tom had the ticket in his hand, and after they had announced the first four numbers, he said ‘we only need 33,’ and he said 33 at the same time the announcer did!  We were so excited and surprised."

Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the administrative assistant for Lease Corporation of America kept it in her stepfather’s freezer – she said it truly was "cold cash!"

Pellegrini, an avid Emmett Kelly clown collector, purchased the winning Cash 5 "easy pick" ticket at Lafayette Park Market, 1031 Orleans, in Detroit.  The lucky lady said she plans to use her winnings to buy a car, start a college fund for her children and put a down-payment on a house.

One other lucky Lottery player who purchased a $250,000 winning Keno ticket at a Detroit retailer has yet to claim his or her winnings.  The winning Keno ticket was purchased for the Tuesday, June 29, 1999 drawing at Rite Aid Discount Pharmacy #4516, 1120 Griswold, in Detroit.

The winning numbers for that draw date were: 4, 9, 11, 18, 19, 20, 23, 25, 30, 32, 37, 40, 43, 46, 47, 48, 49, 51, 57, 63, 65 and 77.  The lucky Michigan Lottery player holding the ticket that matched 10 of these numbers has one year from the draw date to claim his or her prize.
