LANSING, June 30, 1999 – The two members of the Top Dog Lottery Club of Plymouth sniffed out the right path through the Michigan Lottery’s "Money Maze" instant ticket to uncover the $35,000 top prize.
The winning ticket was purchased at Sunoco Food Market #6061, 42495 Joy Road, in Canton.
"My brother bought the ticket and I scratched it off," Susan Long, the club’s representative said. "When I looked at the ticket I couldn’t believe we had really won! My brother and I play together as a club so we split the winnings."
Long, a lunch room supervisor at Our Lady of Good Counsel School, said she and her brother enjoy playing The Big Game and Michigan Lotto in addition to the instant games.
Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Redford Township, Long kept it in a safety box. The 42-year-old Plymouth woman said she plans to use her portion of the winnings to pay for her children’s tuition.
"Money Maze" is a new extended-play instant ticket recently released by the Michigan Lottery. It is not a typical "scratch-off" ticket as it directs players, with a series of arrows, through the maze where they can win prize amounts up to $35,000. "Money Maze" and many other Michigan Lottery instant tickets are available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
