LANSING, June 25, 1999 – Connie Leggieri of St. Clair Shores recently got a sweet surprise when she scratched off a Michigan Lottery "Cupid Cash" instant game ticket to reveal that she had won the $14,000 top prize!
The 35-year-old winner purchased the winning ticket at Wally’s Mini Mart Inc., 3800 Woodward Ave. #634, in Detroit.
"I was shocked to see that I had won," Leggieri said. "I had a friend of mine look the ticket over to make sure I wasn’t just imagining things."
The accounts receivable clerk at Affiliated Internists said she has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past six years. She said she especially enjoys playing The Big Game, Michigan Lotto and, of course, the instant games.
Prior to turning the winning ticket in a the Lottery’s regional office in Sterling Heights, Leggieri kept it in her pocket to ensure its safety. The St. Clair Shores woman, who enjoys reading in her spare time, plans to use her winnings to pay bills and take a vacation.
Michigan Lottery instant tickets are available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
