LANSING, June 22, 1999 – A Tawas City man recently won himself a fortune when he took home the $1 million top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s "Casino Fortune" instant game!
"I was staying at a motel while on out-of-town business for my job, and I decided to buy an instant Lottery ticket," the winner said. "I knew as soon as I scratched off the $1 million prize that I had won! I was so excited – I called my wife immediately to give her the good news. She thought I was kidding at first! I called Lottery headquarters the next day to verify that I really did have a winning ticket."
The winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at Forward #108, 600 W. Houghton, in West Branch. Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, he kept it with him at all times.
The lucky man said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past eight years, and his favorites are the Daily 3, Daily 4 and, of course, the instant games. He said he will likely use his winnings to pay bills – he added that he "hasn’t even had the chance to think about it yet."
"Casino Fortune" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
