LANSING, April 15, 1999 – Sharon Guadagnini of Trenton recently hit the big time with the Michigan Lottery’s Big Game! Guadagnini matched the first five numbers in the April 6 drawing to win the $150,000 prize. That day’s winning numbers were: 12, 17, 22, 33, 44 and the Big Money Ball number was 25.
"I looked up the winning numbers on the Lottery’s Web site," Gaudagnini said. "I wasn’t sure I had won anything because I didn’t know how to play. I took the ticket to the store to find out if I had won anything. When they told me that I had won $150,000 I was completely surprised and shocked! I was in denial for days!"
The country folk art collector said she only plays Michigan Lottery games periodically, and her favorites are The Big Game and Michigan Lotto.
Guadagnini, 50, purchased the winning Big Game "easy pick" ticket at Rite Aid Discount Pharmacy #4335, 3020 Van Horn Road, in Trenton. The lucky lady said she plans to use part of her winnings to pay bills and invest the rest.
The Big Game is a six-state lottery game which held its first drawing in September 1996. Lotteries in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts and Virginia contribute to the joint prize pool. Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m. The next Big Game drawing will be conducted Friday, April 16 – the expected jackpot is $10 million.
