LANSING, April 14, 1999 – Mary Armstrong of Garden City recently won big money with the Michigan Lottery’s Big Game!  Armstrong matched the first five numbers in the April 2 drawing to win the $150,000 prize.  That day’s winning numbers were: 8, 25, 26, 28, 35 and the Big Money Ball number was 25.

"I saw the winning numbers in the Detroit Free Press and then checked my tickets against those numbers," Armstrong said.  "I had to look at the ticket 1,000 times to really believe it!"

The Garden City woman said she has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 26 years, and she particularly enjoys The Big Game, Michigan Lotto and the instant games.

Armstrong purchased the winning Big Game "easy pick" ticket at Kroger #700, 5866 Middlebelt Road, in Garden City.  The lucky lady said she does not yet have plans for her winnings.

The Big Game is a six-state lottery game which held its first drawing in September 1996.  Lotteries in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts and Virginia contribute to the joint prize pool.  Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.  The next Big Game drawing will be conducted Friday, April 16 – the expected jackpot is $10 million.
