Ronald Hobbs Of Temperance Wins $150,000 Big Game Prize!

LANSING, April 12, 1999 – Ronald Hobbs of Temperance recently won big money with the Michigan Lottery’s Big Game!  Hobbs matched the first five numbers in the April 6 drawing to win the $150,000 prize.  That day’s winning numbers were: 12, 17, 22, 33, 44 and the Big Money Ball number was 25.

"I watched the drawing on television," Hobbs said.  "I was so happy and shocked that I had matched five numbers!  I called the Lottery first thing the next day to verify that I really had a winning ticket."

The avid golfer and hockey player said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past 26 years, and he especially enjoys The Big Game, Michigan Lotto and instant games.

Hobbs purchased the winning Big Game "easy pick" ticket at Dairy Mart #9977, 8012 Lewis Ave., in Temperance. Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, he placed it in a compact disc case for safekeeping.  The lucky winner said he plans on investing his winnings.

The Big Game is a six-state lottery game which held its first drawing in September 1996.  Lotteries in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts and Virginia contribute to the joint prize pool.  Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.  The next Big Game drawing will be conducted Tuesday, April 13 – the expected jackpot is $7 million.
