LANSING, April 1, 1999 – Rosetta Spencer of Flint is $150,000 richer after winning a top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s Big Game! Spencer matched the first five numbers in the March 23 drawing to win the $150,000 prize. That day’s winning numbers were: 16, 18, 29, 44, 47 and the Big Money Ball number was 32.
"I saw the winning numbers in the Flint Journal," Spencer said. "I was very surprised to see that I had matched five numbers! This was only the second Big Game ticket I had ever purchased!"
The Flint woman said she only occasionally plays Michigan Lottery games. She added that she particularly enjoys playing The Big Game, Michigan Lotto and the instant games.
Spencer purchased the winning Big Game "easy pick" ticket at Montego’s, 3021 S. Linden Road, in Flint. The lucky lady said she plans to use part of her winnings to send her grandchildren to college and give some of it to charity.
The Big Game is a six-state lottery game which held its first drawing in September 1996. Lotteries in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts and Virginia contribute to the joint prize pool. Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.
The Big Game jackpot is currently at a record high! No one matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s drawing, and the expected jackpot for Friday, April 2, has skyrocketed to $150 million!
