Lori Pelton Of Chase Wins $150,000 Big Game Prize!

LANSING, April 1, 1999 – Lori Pelton of Chase recently won big bucks in the Michigan Lottery’s Big Game!  Pelton matched the first five numbers in the March 23 drawing to win the $150,000 prize.  That day’s winning numbers were: 16, 18, 29, 44, 47 and the Big Money Ball number was 32.

"I took my ticket to the store where I bought it and had them scan it to see if I had won anything," Pelton said.  "We looked at a winning number printout and saw that I had matched the first five numbers.  I couldn’t believe that I had won $150,000 – I still don’t!"

The Chase woman said she only occasionally plays Michigan Lottery games.  She added that she particularly enjoys the instant games.

Pelton, 31, purchased the winning Big Game "easy pick" ticket at Ringlers Grocery, Inc., 501 E. Main St., in Chase. Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the lucky lady kept it on her refrigerator under a doily.

The avid horseback rider said she plans to use part of her winnings to buy a new tractor and invest the rest.

The Big Game is a six-state lottery game which held its first drawing in September 1996.  Lotteries in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts and Virginia contribute to the joint prize pool.  Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.

The Big Game jackpot is currently at a record high!  No one matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s drawing, and the expected jackpot for Friday, April 2, has skyrocketed to $150 million and may increase yet again before the drawing!
