LANSING, March 24, 1999 – Beatrice Ferrell of Livonia is $150,000 richer after winning a top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s Big Game! Ferrell matched the first five numbers in the March 5 drawing to win the $150,000 prize. That day’s winning numbers were: 3, 20, 26, 29, 36 and the Big Money Ball number was 16.
"When I looked at the winning numbers in the Detroit Free Press and saw that I had matched the first five I couldn’t believe it," Ferrell said. "I was very surprised!"
The Livonia woman said she has regularly played both The Big Game and Michigan Lotto for the past eight years.
Ferrell purchased the winning Big Game "easy pick" ticket at Arbor Drugs, Inc. #8031, 29598 7 Mile Road, in Livonia. Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the winner kept the lucky ticket in her wallet at all times.
The lucky lady said she doesn’t have any special plans for her winnings at this time. She said she is "still thinking about it."
The Big Game is a six-state lottery game which held its first drawing in September 1996. Lotteries in Michigan, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts and Virginia contribute to the joint prize pool. Big Game drawings are conducted every Tuesday and Friday at 11 p.m.
The Big Game jackpot is really on the rise! No one matched all six numbers in Tuesday night’s drawing, and the expected jackpot for Friday, March 26, has swelled to $73 million!
