LANSING, March 2, 1999 – Cupid had an extra special surprise to help Anthony Hamlin of Detroit celebrate Valentine’s Day this year – the $14,000 top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s "Cupid Cash" instant game!
The 28-year-old winner purchased the winning ticket at Ryans Mini Mart, Inc., 5041 E. 7 Mile Road, in Detroit.
"I just kept looking at the ticket and couldn’t believe I was really a winner," Hamlin said.
The inspector at Chrysler Corporation said he has been playing Michigan Lottery games for the past seven years. He said he especially enjoys the Michigan Lotto and the instant and Daily games.
Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Sterling Heights, Hamlin placed it in his wallet for safe keeping. The computer enthusiast said he plans to use his winnings toward the purchase of a new home.
