LANSING, February 23, 1999 – Valentine’s Day was extra special this year for Autumn Watters of Flint – she won the $14,000 top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s "Cupid Cash" instant game!
The 22-year-old winner purchased the winning ticket at Hanna’s 3J Market, G-3283 S. Saginaw St., in Burton.
"It took awhile for me to realize that I had won," Watters said. "I jumped up and down and screamed when I finally realized I was a winner!"
The waitress at Valley Restaurant said she has been playing Michigan Lottery instant games for the past three years. Prior to turning the winning ticket in at the Lottery’s regional office in Bridgeport, Watters placed the ticket in her jewelry box for safe keeping.
The Flint woman, who enjoys shopping and camping in her spare time, said she plans to use her winnings to take a trip to Florida and buy a new Camaro.
"Cupid Cash" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
