Shelby Township Resident Wins $100,000 In Lottery's "$1,000,000 Gift" Instant Game! New Baltimore Retailer Sells Second Top Lottery Ticket In Less Than A Month!

LANSING, January 22, 1999 – A Shelby Township man recently experienced a bit of Lottery luck when he won a $100,000 prize in the Michigan Lottery’s "$1,000,000 Gift" instant game!

The 53-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at New Baltimore Town & Country, 36011 Green St., in New Baltimore – the same store that just sold a $1,091,204 jackpot-winning ticket in the December 26, 1998 Michigan Lotto drawing!

"I scratched the ticket off at work just before leaving for the day," the winner said.  "It took me a minute to realize how much money I had won.  I was both surprised and delighted!"

The Shelby Township man said he has been playing the Michigan Lottery for the past 20 years.  Prior to turning in the winning ticket at Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing, he hid the ticket in a safe place in his home.

The winner said he already has special plans for his winnings.  He plans to purchase a new car, put some finishing touches on his new home and put some aside to save for his children’s college education.

"$1,000,000 Gift" is just one of many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
