LANSING, December 10, 1998 – An Ionia man recently experienced a bit of Lottery luck when he won the $200,000 top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s "Lucky Dollars" instant game!
The Ionia County corrections officer, who requested anonymity, purchased the winning ticket at Crystal Flash #32, 2525 S. State Road, in Ionia.
"I bought the ticket when I stopped at the gas station and scratched it off in the car," he said. "I ran back into the gas station and had the cashier check it to make sure I had won. Once I knew it was a winner I raced home and told my girlfriend! She called her mother and some of our close friends to tell them the good news!"
The Ionia man, an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer, said he has been regularly playing Michigan Lottery instant tickets for the past seven years. Prior to turning the winning ticket in at Lottery headquarters in Lansing, the Ionia man said he "kept it in his front pocket at all times." The winner said he plans to use his winnings to build a house and purchase a new vehicle.
"Lucky Dollars" is just one of the many Michigan Lottery instant tickets available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
