LANSING, December 9, 1998 – Lottery players from Dearborn and Detroit are now each a little richer, having recently claimed top Michigan Lottery prizes!
Gary Archie of Dearborn matched the first five numbers in the November 27 Big Game drawing to win $150,000! That day’s winning numbers were: 4, 8, 20, 41, 44 and the Big Money Ball number was 6.
Archie purchased the winning Big Game ticket at House of Beverage, 23900 Cherry Hill St., in Dearborn.
A 50-year-old Detroit man won $100,000 when he matched all five numbers – 12, 17, 24, 28 and 38 – in the Cash 5 drawing on December 1.
"I got a winning number printout from the store and then compared it to my ticket when I got into the car," he said. "I looked at the numbers on my ticket, and when I saw they matched the printout I couldn’t believe it was true!"
The engineer for Ford Motor Company said he plans to use his winnings to pay bills and build a new home. The winner purchased the winning Cash 5 "easy pick" ticket at Dearborn Heights Amoco Inc., 24035 Joy Road, in Dearborn Heights.
Big Game drawings are held every Tuesday and Friday, and Cash 5 drawings are held each weeknight. The next Big Game drawing will be conducted on Friday and the expected jackpot is $7 million. Big Game and Cash 5 tickets are available at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
