LANSING, October 12, 1998 – An Eaton Rapids resident is now $100,000 richer, thanks to the winning Michigan Lottery Cash 5 ticket she recently purchased!

The 39-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, collected the game’s $100,000 top prize by matching all five numbers in the October 7 drawing – 1, 12, 22, 27 and 39.  The winning numbers are of special significance to her, as they are her child’s birth date as well as her own.  The winning ticket was purchased at Rich’s Country Store, 6237 Bishop Road, in Lansing.

"I went to visit a friend in Eaton Rapids and picked up her paper for her," she said.  "So, I checked the winning numbers and knew right away that I had won!  It is still just a shock to me!"

The Eaton Rapids waitress, who has been a regular Lottery player for the past 21 years, said she plans to buy a new car with her winnings and save the rest for the future.

Cash 5 drawings are conducted every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Odds to win the $100,000 prize are 1 in 575,757.  Tickets are available at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
