Troy Resident Wins $250,000 Top Prize In Lottery's "25th Anniversary Cash" Instant Game!

LANSING, September 23, 1998 – Little did a Troy woman know that the $5 she spent on an instant lottery ticket would bring her $250,000!

The 20-year-old winner collected the top prize in the Michigan Lottery’s "25th Anniversary Cash" instant game.  She said she was shocked when she scratched off the instant ticket to reveal the prize – "$25,000" 10 times.

"I scratched it off and matched all the numbers, and then did the prizes," the winner said.  "I saw $25,000 ten times and was hysterical!  I told my family that I had won $250,000, and the word spread really fast after that."

The winner, who requested anonymity, purchased the lucky ticket at A & A Specialty Foods, 2945 Crooks Road, in Rochester Hills.  She said she plans to use her winnings to make a down payment on a house and save the rest for the future.

Michigan Lottery instant tickets are available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
