LANSING, September 18, 1998 – On her way to a bingo game, Dorothy Bilick of Clarkston stopped at Speedway #2375, 11911 S. Saginaw St., in Grand Blanc to purchase a "Lucky Dollars" instant ticket.
Little did Bilick know that a Michigan Lottery lottery ticket would change her life! When she arrived at the bingo hall, she scratched off the ticket and discovered that she had won $200,000 – the instant game’s top prize!
"I was shocked," Bilick said. "I quietly left the bingo game immediately – after cashing in my $6 bingo winnings. My husband had to check the ticket twice to be sure that I really won!"
Bilick came to the Michigan Lottery headquarters recently to claim her prize. Until the day that she actually turned her winning ticket in, she kept it in the freezer for "safe keeping" in case there was a fire in their home.
Bilick said she plans to use her winnings to make home improvements, build a pole barn and buy a 1950s red Corvette!
Michigan Lottery instant tickets are available at more than 9,300 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
