Saginaw Forklift Driver Picks Up $100,000 In Michigan Lottery's June 9 Cash 5 Drawing!

LANSING, July 21, 1998 – A Saginaw man got a nice surprise recently, matching all five numbers in the June 9 Cash 5 drawing – 7, 19, 30, 32 and 36 – to win the game’s top prize of $100,000!

The winner, who requested anonymity, said he was a forklift driver at GM’s Delphi plant in Saginaw and has been a regular Michigan Lottery player since 1972.

"I picked up the drawing results at a local store and went home and discovered my good luck," he said.  "I called my wife and told her I’d won, and she didn’t believe me at first, thinking I was playing a joke."

The 51-year-old winner said he would use his winnings to upgrade his computer system and buy a digital camera.  His wife said she wants to buy a "fancy outfit."

The winning "easy pick" Cash 5 ticket was purchased at 7-Eleven 031D, 803 S. Wheeler St., in Saginaw.

Cash 5 drawings are conducted every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Odds to win the $100,000 prize are 1 in 575,757. Tickets are available at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
