LANSING, July 21, 1998 – A Holland resident has plenty of reasons to smile this summer – 100,000 reasons, to be exact!  The lucky man matched all five numbers in the July 6 Cash 5 drawing to win the game’s top prize of $100,000!

The winner, who requested anonymity, said he selected a combination of numbers that represented family birthdays and other "special" numbers.  The winning numbers in the July 6 Cash 5 drawing were: 1, 11, 15, 17 and 24.

"My wife saw the numbers on television and she was really cool about it," he said.  "Once we knew it was true, we were both very happy!"

A regular Michigan Lottery player for 14 years, the winner said he and his wife would use their Cash 5 winnings to purchase a new house.

The winning Cash 5 ticket was purchased at Lincolnshire Party Store, 1080 Lincoln Ave., in Holland.

Cash 5 drawings are conducted every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Tickets are available at more than 6,400 Michigan Lottery retailers throughout the state.
