LANSING, March 18, 1998 – Greenville resident Nancy Thompson thought she won $2,000 playing the Michigan Lottery’s "Power Play" instant game.  Imagine her surprise as she realized good fortune had actually brought her $20,000!

"I still can’t believe it!"  said Thompson when she came to Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing to claim her prize.

Thompson, 43, is a factory worker at Frigidaire.  She said she and her husband, James, plan to use the "Power Play" winnings to pay bills and "fix a few things that have needed to be fixed for a long time."

A regular player of Michigan Lottery instant games, Thompson purchased the winning "Power Play" ticket at Jorgensen’s Super Market #444, 215 N. State Street, in Stanton.

Michigan Lottery instant tickets are sold at more than 9,000 retailers statewide.
