LANSING, September 10, 1997 – A Greenville man knows it only takes one to win with the Michigan Lottery! After buying just one ticket, he’s the latest winner of the top prize in the "Cash For Life" instant game – $1,000 a week for life!
The 30-year-old winner, who requested anonymity, said he kept quiet about his good fortune in hopes of surprising his wife.
"When I scratched off that ticket and saw what it was worth, I didn’t believe it was real at first," he said.
"I read the whole ticket from front to back just to be sure it was really a winner, but even then I still didn’t tell my wife. I wanted to surprise her with our first check!"
A regular Michigan Lottery player for the last eight years, the winner said he will use his first prize installment to pay bills, make home improvements and plan a family vacation.
The winning ticket was purchased at Great Lakes Convenience, 17984 Apple Ave., in Casnovia.
"Cash For Life" is one of the many Michigan Lottery instant games available at more than 9,000 Michigan Lottery retailers statewide.
